Garbage is not just garbage.
Swarming art in Erlangen

“Surprise Ice Cream” was the title of a black art installation for the sustainability festival “Deine Stadt und Du” on 49 15116522468.

In the process of 10 workshops, 50 "ice garbage cans" were created as ice sculptures. In the sculptures, “garbage” is frozen with the help of water (see pictures for example: pens, balls, cups, plants, jerseys...).
The 50 ice garbage cans were set up as an art installation on the day of the action on the Schloßplatz in Erlangen. Swarm artists were invited to secure the supposed garbage as a treasure with the ice pick.
During the course of the day, the ice garbage cans allow new perspectives on the supposed "garbage" and invite visitors to discuss garbage in the glittering world of ice.

Is there garbage or just matter in the wrong place?

In the best case scenario, “Surprise Ice Cream” should create a sustainable cycle on a small scale, until ideally nothing but water remains on the palace square.
